Driver Involved In Head On Collision Blames Alligator For Crash

A driver from Lake Worth was involved in a head on collision while avoiding an alligator on Glades Road in Boca Raton.

Two cars were involved in a head on collision along Glades Road that sent one person to the hospital in Boca Raton. The crash occurred after an unexpected encounter with an alligator that was attempting to cross the paved road.

The Lake Worth driver was traveling in a Chevrolet Silverado when he noticed an alligator crossing the southbound lane of Glades Road. He immediately swerved to avoid running it over and ended up in the northbound lane directly in the path of a Buick Lacrosse.

The Buick Lacrosse was approaching on the northbound lane and collided head on with the Chevrolet Silverado. The impact sent the Buick off the left shoulder of the road until it crashed into a tree.

A front seat passenger in the Buick Lacrosse was severely injured in the crash. She sustained severe head trauma among other injuries. The driver of the Buick Lacrosse suffered a broken neck and rib fractures. The two occupants of the car were transported to the hospital in an ambulance.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado sustained minor injuries in the crash and was treated by paramedics on the scene.
