Paramedics transported two people to the hospital with serious injuries after an SUV lost control on a wet road and crashed into a tree along Village Parkway Drive in Port St. Lucie.
The police responded to a crash on southbound Village Parkway Drive after a driver lost control on a wet road in Port St. Lucie. Emergency services arrived at the scene to attend to injured passengers following the fatal crash.
The driver of a Kia Sportage was traveling southbound on Village Parkway Drive when she lost control of her vehicle, climbed onto the center divider, and crashed into a tree in the central reservation. The car was heavily damaged in the crash.
Consequently, two occupants of the car sustained severe injuries in the incident. The front seat passenger in the SUV suffered multiple injuries and paramedics attended to him on the scene. They then transported him to the hospital in an ambulance.
Additionally, a back seat passenger sustained a head injury from hitting his head against a window during the crash. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the Kia driver, fortunately, survived with minor injuries.
Police are still conducting investigations into the crash to rule out other factors. Emergency services spent hours clearing the wreckage, but traffic was considerably unperturbed due to the crash location.
Authorities advise drivers to maintain a controllable speed when driving in wet road conditions.
