A 16-year-old teenager is in critical condition after a crash involving three vehicles on I-95 in Boca Raton.
Police are investigating a crash which sent a 16-year-old teenager to the hospital in critical condition along southbound I-95. Emergency services were spotted on the scene clearing the wreckage in order to restore a free flow of traffic on the busy interstate.
Officers of the Florida Highway Patrol received a call about the driver of a Chevrolet Cavalier who was allegedly swerving through lanes recklessly on the southbound carriage. The Chevrolet was said to have cut off of a Toyota Rav4 SUV without causing the driver of the SUV to crash into the rear of the Chevrolet.
The impact of the crash propelled the Chevrolet into the left lane of the road where it sideswiped a Ford Focus into the center divider. The Ford Focus sustained heavy damage and the two occupants of the car were hospitalized for multiple injuries.
The driver of the Ford Focus, a 42-year-old man, was transported to the hospital for a neck injury. His 16-year-old daughter who was in the front seat of the car was transported to a nearby hospital and is said to be in a critical condition.
The driver of the Toyota Rav4 was not hurt in the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet who was treated on the scene for minor injuries.
No charges have been filed yet. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
