One person was killed and several others injured in a crash involving two motorcycles and a car on Linton Boulevard and Catherine Drive, according to Delray Beach Fire Rescue. A total of 6 people were injured including 1 fatality.
Delray Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene and found two motorcycles and one car involved in the crash. One of the vehicles was found overturned with victims trapped inside. Firefighters had to cut several occupants out from the heavily damaged vehicle with the jaws of life.
First emergency responders arrived shortly after the auto crash happened and transported the injured victims to Delray Medical Center. Two people from the crash were transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Three of the injured victims were transported to Delray Medical Center in serious condition where one later died, according to fire officials. One person was treated at the crash scene and released after.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. Linton Blvd and Catherine Drive are closed due to the severity of the crash, causing traffic delays. Vehicles on this route are pulling to the roadside to allow crews work as they investigate the crash. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic delays.
