A middle-aged man was taken to the hospital after a motorcycle crash, according to St. Lucie County Fire Rescue. The incident involved a motorcycle and another vehicle.
Fire rescue says the crash occurred at Indian River Drive and County Line Road. The motorcyclist, who appears to be in his mid-fifties, was transported by air to a local hospital with critical injuries, they add.
The victim was riding his motorcycle near the intersection of Indian River Drive and County Line Road. A car traveling in the same direction pulled directly into his path, causing his motorcycle to hit the rear of the vehicle, officials say.
According to St. Lucie County Fire Rescue, he was ejected from his motorcycle and landed on the road, sustaining critical injuries. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. No one in the vehicle suffered injuries, according to fire rescue.
The driver of the vehicle and his passenger have not been charged with any crime.
Officials say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
