A crash is blocking the right lane on I-95 northbound before the Gateway Boulevard exit, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
The road block was caused by a two-vehicle accident that happened just before a park in the area, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Four people were hurt in the crash.
First emergency responders arrived at the scene of the crash and the transported victims to a local hospital. There were four people in the SUV. Two were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. There were two passengers in the other car. Both suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Two men were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, FHP said. A woman and her child in the other car suffered injuries and were also taken to the same hospital, according to authorities. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Expect delays in the area. Vehicles on this route are pulling to the roadside to allow crews work. The delay of traffic on this route is due to the severity of the crash. It is best to use an alternative route.
Please drive with caution and stay safe.
