An unidentified male passenger inside a 2005 Lexus has been killed following a crash on Interstate 95 that closed the southbound lanes for several hours near the Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
A 2005 Lexus was seen traveling south on I-95 when a tire blowout occurred causing the car to spin into a 2015 Volvo, FHP disclose in the crash report.
The 21-year-old driver from Fort Lauderdale was rushed to Saint Mary’s Medical Center with severe injuries. The passenger in the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene. The Volvo driver was treated at the scene with minor injuries.
According to the FHP, traffic is currently being diverted and all southbound lanes are closed.
FHP has not yet revealed the identity of the driver who died. The crash is still under investigation.
