Two people have been reported dead and two others were injured after a fiery crash happened near Palm Springs, according to a report made by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Rescue crews were called to a crash close to Congress Avenue and Melaleuca Lane where one car was on fire. A 2016 BMW driven by a 33-year-old, was seen speeding down eastbound on Melaleuca Lane when he lost control and crossed over into westbound traffic. The BMW crashed into the front of a 2008 Toyota Sienna, overturned and caught fire.
Emergency crews were unable to rescue the driver of the BMW. He died at the scene of the accident, according to the Sheriff’s report.
25-year old Cristian Hernandez was a passenger in the Toyota and had been transported in a very critical condition to the St. Mary’s Medical Center. He died the next morning at the hospital due to the extent of his injuries, according to the crash report.
The 34-year-old driver of the Toyota Sienna remains in a critical condition. The second passenger, 28-year-old Noe Linares, sustained minor injuries.
