An accident involving a SUV and a Sienna has sent several people to the hospital from Broward County. All but one of them were juveniles, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The six people traveling in the 2005 Acura MDX ranged in age from 15 to 19, according to what the Sheriff’s Office. Initially, the Boca Raton police had said there were five suspects inside the vehicle.
All six had been taken to an area hospital for their injuries. The 19-year old adult in the SUV was in critical condition. The juveniles were also all in serious conditions.
The Acura was seen speeding west on Palmetto Park Road after fleeing a robbery scene. It went through the intersection at a red light, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the 2016 Toyota Sienna, a 48- year old man of Boca Raton, was heading east on the Palmetto Park Road. While attempting to turn left onto the Northwest 12th Avenue, the Acura crashed into the Toyota’s front passenger side, according to the report.
The victim has been taken to the Delray Medical Center with serious injuries. A Boca Fire Rescue spokesman said he is expected to recover.
