Several Injured In Martin County Accident On U.S. 50
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported a three-vehicle accident with multiple injuries near the intersection of U.S. 50 East and Belgrade Road.
During an investigation it was determined that a 56-year old man of Indianapolis was traveling westbound on U.S. 50 in his white 2010 Chevy van when he proceeded off the roadway striking a guardrail. He then over-corrected and proceeded into the eastbound lane of traffic on U.S. 50.
He struck the driver’s side of a red Toyota Tacoma being driven by a 51-year old man of Shoals. The Toyota Tacoma spun completely around within the eastbound lane of the highway.
After striking the Toyota Tacoma vehicle, the white van driver proceeded westbound in the eastbound lane where it struck a blue 2002 Dodge Ram head-on.
The drivers of the White Van and the Toyota Tacoma were the only occupants of their vehicles but in the other driver was also transporting his wife and two minor children.
All persons involved in the collision were transported to the Davies Community Hospital by the Martin County Ambulance Service. The accident is still under investigation.
