Nine people, including an 8-year-old boy, were severely injured when a car hopped a curb and slammed into a building in the Broward County, FHP officials and other sources said.
The driver had lost control while making a turn near Northbound Road in the Broward County, sending the car into a crowd of pedestrians, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The car hit a pickup truck and came to rest only after striking a building at 2095 Northwest Avenue in Broward County.
The drivers and passengers of both vehicles and the pedestrians sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. The pedestrians, a 35-year old man, an 8-year old boy and a 49-year old woman, were all taken to Broward County Hospital, Florida Highway patrol sources said.
Police do not expect the driver to face charge, however, the investigation are still ongoing.
