A SUV struck a parked car and barreled into a storefront in the Martin County authorities said.
The black Toyota Highlander was heading south on Northwest Avenue when it struck a dark-colored minivan, drove onto the sidewalk and crashed into a department store.
“I saw the car coming,” an employee said, “then it turned, hit a parked car and went into the store. I started running into the store.”
The SUV finally came to a stop approximately 20 feet into the store, an FHP spokesman said.
The store employee said the Toyota’s male driver and a female passenger got out of the car without any assistance.
A woman, who co-owns the store, said she was on her way to the store when her brother called her.
“A car just decided to park up in the store,” she said he told her.
Four people suffered severe injuries and were taken to a hospital in the county.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash or if the driver would be charged.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident involving a Sports Utility Vehicle ultimately causing injuries to four persons.
