Two teens are in the hospital, one with critical injuries, after a car they were in exited the Palm Beach County Expressway at a very high speed, spun out of control and had smashed into two parked vehicles, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Their vehicle, a blue 2002 Ford Focus, was in the westbound lane and police say it did not slow down enough as it took Exit 10 in the Palm Beach County Corners neighborhood.
The 19-year-old male driver lost control after hitting a curb at the bottom of the exit, causing the car to spin out of control across Northwest Avenue and hit two parked cars, both unoccupied.
The car finally came to a stop when it drove into a fence. Some photos of the scene show a mangled mess of metal and glass.
The driver is in critical condition while his passenger, a 17-year-old female, is in serious condition with non life-threatening injuries.
Both teens live in Palm Beach County and were taken to Delray Medical Center in the county.
