Teen Severely Injured In Three-Car Crash On Indian River County Highway
A teen driver speeding on Indian River County Highway was severely injured when he sparked a horrific three-car crash, Florida Highway Patrol said.
An 18-year-old was behind the wheel of his 2002 Honda Accord traveling west on Indian River County Highway when he came upon stopped traffic and suddenly slammed into a tractor trailer, Federal Highway Patrol said.
The 18-year old teen then lost control of his car spinning into a guardrail before bouncing off and striking a white Toyota RAV4, according to Federal Highway Patrol.
The teen, from Claremont Village, was rushed to a hospital in the Indian River County and his 17-year-old male passenger was rushed to Delray Medical Center in critical condition, Federal Highway Patrol said.
The 66-year-old man driving the tractor-trailer driver and the 29-year-old man at the wheel of the Toyota were also severely injured.
The accident is still under investigation at this time.
