A 3-year-old girl was killed and four other people were injured in separate car accidents in The North River Shores and Jensen Beach.
A little girl was walking behind her mother, who was pushing a stroller with another child in it, through the crosswalk at Jensen Beach and East 164th Street near North River Shores
As the little girl tried to keep up, she was struck by a car making a left turn.
“She said ‘Mommy the car is coming,’” her mother, told FHP. “Before I could grab her, she was gone.”
The little girl died at Martin County Hospital. The driver remained at the scene and was not charged.
“All I saw was the mother crying on the ground holding the little girl,” said a 34-year old witness.
“She had on a pink book bag. It was covered in blood.”
After a while a teen driver in a stolen SUV blew through several red lights and collided with another vehicle, propelling both cars in opposite directions, with each striking a woman pushing a stroller, police said.
One of the women, a mom pushing her 2-year-old son, was in critical condition at Martin County Hospital. The boy, incredibly, was not hurt.
The other woman and the 10-month-old boy she was pushing were in stable condition at Delray Medical Center
The driver of the Chevy allegedly tried to run from the scene, but police caught him.
