Three young men driving around Broward County were almost killed when another vehicle rear-ended their SUV after it jumped a curb, authorities said.
The horrific wreck occurred after a 19-year old driver lost control of the red Honda as he was going around a bend on Weston Avenue while drunk and speeding, cops said.
The vehicle was catapulted over the curb and flipped end-over-end before coming to rest on its grille against a tree, trapping the men inside, police said.
Rescuers had to cut them from the wreckage. A 21-year-old passenger in the back seat was hospitalized in critical condition, while another 21-year-old passenger was in serious condition.
Police found bottles of Bacardi Gold, Hennessy cognac and Hpnotiq liquor in the car.
The driver was charged with vehicular assault and DWI.
The accident was one of several around the city.
Hours earlier, a 45-year old pastor was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a car stopped at a red light in Martin County, cops said.
Police are still investigating both incidents.
