Motorist Killed On Fort Pierce Avenue After Running Into Oncoming Traffic

A driver was killed when he rear ended another car on the Upper East Side running into oncoming traffic, Florida Highway Patrol Officials said.


The man was driving a Honda Civic northbound on Fort Pierce near 96th Street when he rear ended a Jeep, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

According to Florida Highway Patrol Officials, both motorists pulled over and got out of their cars after the crash.

The Honda driver then ran across the Fort Pierce Avenue into oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes and was struck by a Cadillac.

The unidentified man was rushed to a hospital in St. Lucie County where he was pronounced dead.

The Cadillac driver remained at the scene after striking the man, Florida Highway Patrol officials said. An investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
