Mother, Baby Killed In Car Crash Involving a Toyota Highlander In St. Lucie County
A mother and baby were tragically killed when their car hit a deer after hitting a Toyota Highlander in St. Lucie County.
Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 27-year old was driving with her two children in St. Lucie County when her car struck a deer and then sideswiped a Toyota Highlander.
The 27-year old and her 19-month-old daughter died. The deer was also killed in the accident. The driver of the Toyota Highlander was not hurt in the accident. The 27-year old woman’s four-year-old son survived the crash and was flown to Delray Medical Center in Palm Beach County by helicopter to treat his injuries.
“She was the best mom any child could ever ask for, and she was the best daughter,” said the 27-year old woman’s mother. “She was my rock, and I was her rock too.” An uptick in car accidents involving deer in the area has officials concerned.
