A teenager injured herself and two others when she drifted into oncoming traffic, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The 20-year old woman was arrested on DUI charges. Test results after the wreck showed she had marijuana and Alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax, in her system.
She was recently booked into the Palm Beach County Jail
Her car crossed over into oncoming traffic on Cain Boulevard near Vista Grand Road, just north of Glades Road, sheriff’s office records indicate.
She crashed into another car injuring the two people inside. The two victims in the second car were transported to a nearby hospital.
Deputies found the 20-year-old driver trapped in her car. When a deputy spoke with her at Delray Medical Center, she appeared impaired. She smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and was confused by what had happened, the deputy wrote.
She told officials she couldn’t remember what happened. She said she hadn’t consumed either alcohol or drugs before the crash, only Seroquel, a drug used to treat mood disorders.
She is scheduled to appear before a Palm Beach County judge.
