A 75-year-old woman died in a two-car wreck west of town, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The accident happened at Jog Road and Lantana Road. Feldman was turning across Jog Road’s northbound lanes and failed to yield to a 2001 Mazda SUV, driven by a 17-year old of suburban Lake Worth, according to a sheriff’s vehicle homicide investigations report.
The front of the Mazda violently crashed into the driver’s side of Feldman’s Mitsubishi, the report said.
Feldman was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck. The 17-year old also was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries. Marcia Feldman was pronounced dead at Delray Medical Center shortly after the wreck.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged and firefighters had to use the “jaws of life” to cut the occupants out of their cars, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
There is no evidence that either drugs of alcohol played a part in the crash, the report said. The accident is still under investigation.
