Martin County Woman, 27, Injured In Boynton I-95 Wreck

A woman was critically injured in the wreck, which happened on the I-95 near Boynton Beach Boulevard. She was flown to the  Delray Medical Center by Trauma Hawk.

She was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander northbound when she struck a disabled 2000 Freightliner truck just south of the exit ramp at Boynton Beach Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

The driver, a 53 year old man of Hialeah, had placed emergency pylons behind the truck before the wreck occurred.

The cause of the wreck, which delayed traffic to Gateway Boulevard, remained under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck. Tests results were not available on whether drugs or alcohol played any role in the wreck, the Florida Highway Patrol and police authorities said.

The 53- year old Hialeah driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

Investigations are ongoing.
