Woman Cut From Wreckage After Fort Pierce Car Accident
A woman sustained a fractured pelvis in a wreckage after the car she was traveling in hit a pickup truck and overturned on a Port Salerno Street.
A Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman said crews were called to the scene of the accident on Port Salerno. A woman, believed to be in her 20s, was trapped in the overturned car and fire crews had to cut off a door to gain access to her.
A Martin County police sergeant said the woman was a passenger in the car when it left Port Salerno and struck a pick up truck before overturning.
She was trapped under the overturned vehicle, FHP said. Two other occupants, both male aged 17 and 16 in the pickup, escaped serious injury.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said alcohol was not a factor in the crash as investigations into the cause continue.
