A cyclist in her mid-fifties was reportedly struck by a car while riding her bike along Port St. Lucie St near White City in St. Lucie County.
The woman remains in a stable condition at the Port St. Lucie Hospital and is expected to have surgery to treat a fracture in her right leg, the Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.
Both the St. Lucie County Fire and Emergency Services and the ambulance were called to the scene shortly after the crash happened.
The woman was taken to the a hospital in a stable condition.
Charges have reportedly not been pressed against the driver of the vehicle, as the Florida Highway Patrol officials are trying to determine if drugs or alcohol had been a factor in the crash.
The accident is still under investigation.
