A Broward County drag racer was killed in a fiery wreck after his speeding car slammed into a school bus, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The driver of the black Honda Civic, identified by a friend only as a 26-year old, lost control of his car and slammed into the school bus that was carrying 16 college students. The accident occurred near the corner of Coconut Creek and Coral Springs in Broward county, the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
His car was twisted and torn apart by the impact, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, said authorities, who were working to find his true identity.
Four students in the school bus died after being transported to the hospital, while 11 others were seriously injured. The driver and one other student were not hurt.
