35-Year Old Florida Driver Convicted In A Fatal Drunk Driving Crash
A 37-year old Florida man has just been convicted in a drunk driving crash that had left a 35-year old motor scooter passenger dead.
The Hobe Sound, Martin County reports that a 35-year-old man was found guilty of the DUI manslaughter and other related charges.
Authorities said the 37-year old man was driving his pickup truck on a Hobe Sound, Martin County road when he had struck a scooter ridden by a 35-year-old Broward County man and a 25-year-old Delray Beach man. The truck and scooter caught fire. The 37-year old fled the scene, police authorities reported.
The crash had left the 25-year old man dead and the 35-year old seriously injured.
Police authorities and the Florida Highway Patrol officials say they found the 37-year old Florida driver behind some bushes after the crash had already occurred
Records and investigations had later shown that he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.358 percent. The Florida law considers a driver impaired at 0.08 percent.
