The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the blaze on the Winter Beach side of the Wabasso Beach Tunnel.

Video posted by a Twitter user shows flames spewing out of the front of the taxi as it’s stopped in the left lane.

The taxi, driven by 20-year old Martin County man, was going way past the legal Florida speed limit when it sideswiped a tractor-trailer driver by a 36-year old man going same direction. The taxi rolled over and crash on four other cars in the tunnel, before finally going up in flames, the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

Four people were confirmed dead at the crash scene, while three others were taken to a nearby hospital. Their present health conditions haven’t been made known by officials in the hospitals concern, a Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant told the Post.
