The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a child killed in a two-vehicle crash in Port Salerno, Martin County.
A 3-year old of Jensen Beach was pronounced dead at a Palm Beach Medical Center shortly after the crash, the medical examiner said.
The crash happened on Port Salerno in Martin County. Investigators said the 3-year old and another child were both in car seats when a 2017 Ford Escape smashed into the 2005 Honda Accord, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Both vehicles were driven by women whose names were not provided by authorities.
The crash forced the Honda Accord to hit a pole an utility box, police authorities said.
The second child was flown to Delray Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, Florida Highway Patrol said. An update on the child’s condition was not yet made available.
Police authorities and the Florida Highway Patrol officials did not say of the driver and a passenger in the Honda were hurt. The woman in the Escape was treated for minor injuries and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators have not said whether they expect to file criminal charges related to the crash.
