Two Killed In A Head-On Collision With Tractor Trailer In Martin County
A 36-year-old Port Salerno man and a 40-year-old Jupiter Island man are dead after they both crashed their motorcycles in a crash involving a tractor trailer in North River Shores.
Two Lake County men are dead after crashing their motorcycles, Martin County police authorities said.
The crash occurred on the 6300 block of Hobe Sound between Sewall’s point and Palm City roads.
A 36-year old of Port Salerno and a 40-year old of Jupiter Island, were riding together when the crash happened, Florida Highway Patrol officials said. They were heading westbound on Hobe Sound when they failed to negotiate a curve in the road. They both had a head-on crash with a tractor trailer, the news release states.
Both of the victim’s motorcycles crashed off the left side of the road, police said. The 40-year old was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The 36-year old died from his injuries at Delray Medical Center.
Martin County police authorities are working with crash reconstruction teams to investigate the crash. Officials did not provide a preliminary cause of the incident.
The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured and is currently being questioned by Martin County police authorities.
