Man, Child Struck By Vehicle In Lake Worth
LAKE WORTH —A man and child were rushed to a hospital after being struck and pinned underneath a vehicle in Lake Worth, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue reports.
Firefighters reported that the man and child had been on a motorcycle before they were hit and pinned by a vehicle. The incident happened near Lake Avenue and North F Street. Firefighters had to use extrication tools to free the man and child, a spokesman for Fire Rescue said.
Both were taken to an undisclosed trauma hospital. An update on their conditions was not available. The crash occurred along a busy stretch of road lined with various shops, about a block southwest of Lake Worth City Hall.
One man said he was sitting in a parked car when he heard the sound of a loud bang. The man, who spoke in Spanish, said he got out and saw a man pinned under a vehicle and he immediately called 911. The man declined to give his name.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies blocked a stretch of F Street near the crash scene for more than two hours. Investigators began to remove crime scene tape at as a tow truck prepared to remove the motorcycle from the scene.
