17-Year-Old Alexis Chaney Of Fort Pierce Remembered In A Vigil
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – It has been six painful nights since five young people were killed in a fiery crash in Fort Pierce when their truck was rear-ended.
Loved ones of one of those five victims held a vigil to remember 17-year-old Alexis Chaney.
They miss and remember all five people lost in that crash. Chaney’s loved ones wanted to do something small and intimate to remember her alone.
“Knowing that I have memories of Alexis, it helps me day to day to look back over memories of her,” said Chaney’s mentor.
Her mentor was among the friends and family members who listened to songs, said prayers and held pictures and candles.
Chaney left a mark on everyone who knew her.
Investigators identified the others lost in the crash as 21-year-old Anthony Victor, 16-year-old Anthony Martin, 21-year-old Darien Douglas, and the driver, as a 27-year-old man
A 14-year-old girl was rescued from the truck that caught fire. She was also at the vigil to remember Chaney.
Investigators and the Florida Highway Patrol officials said that this will be a long and complex investigation.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident resulting in several fatalities.
