A pickup truck has smashed through a home in Indian River County, barely missing a woman who was asleep on her couch.
Police say the crash happened in Florida Ridge.
The 65-year old woman who was sleeping on the couch, says she heard a loud bang, woke up and said, “Why is my truck in the living room?” The woman’s husband was driving the truck. He said he mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake.
The truck destroyed the family’s Christmas tree and their gifts, and injured four children.
The 65-year old woman says the items they lost are replaceable. She says she and her husband have been together for 27 years. She also said she is glad the kids are in stable condition at Delray Medical Center in Palm Beach County.
Police and the Florida Highway Patrol officials are still investigating the cause of the crash, and no charges have been filed.
The Florida Highway Patrol officials are still interrogating the husband of the 65-year old woman, to gather relevant information to what may have caused the crash. Drugs and alcohol is not believed to have played a part in the crash.
The home has been temporarily condemned.
