Teen killed in accident that occurred at Blossom Drive and Oswego Avenue in Sebastian.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol sergeant, a purple Dodge Charger, traveling north on Blosson Drive at a high rate of speed, struck a pedestrian.
The Charger left the road and then struck a sign before re-entering the roadway and continuing north, striking a Ford F-150 head-on, Florida Highway Patrol and Sebastian Police officials said.
The teen driver of the Charger was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the pedestrian, 69-year-old Alan Broberg, suffered minor injuries. He was treated at Sebastian Regional Medical Center for a broken arm and was later released.
The driver of the Ford F-150, 51-year-old Frederick Klein Jr., was also airlifted to Delray Regional Medical Center in Palm Beach County with numerous serious injuries, Florida Highway officials said. He was later listed in serious but stable condition.
The name of the teenager driving the charger has not been released.
