53-Year-Old Camry Driver Dies In Deadly Martin County Car Crash
A man driving the wrong way on a one-way street in Martin County died when he crashed his car into a tractor trailer, FHP authorities said.
The gray Toyota Camry was headed southbound on a northbound stretch of Port Salerno in Martin County when it collided with the dump truck turning right onto Jensen Beach from East 233rd Street near the Hobe Sound Expressway, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The truck driver, who was heading to West Palm Beach at the time of the deadly crash sustain minor head injuries and was rush to Martin County General Hospital.
Three other passengers in his truck were uninjured, according to Florida Highway Patrol officials.
The 53-year old Toyota Camry driver was reported to have died from his injuries at Delray Beach Medical Center in Palm Beach County.
His passenger, a 17-year old Port Salerno girl, was pronounced dead at the scene, police authorities said.
Investigators said, it is still investigating why the driver was going the wrong way, though alcohol is considered a factor in the crash, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
