The Florida Highway Patrol and the Palm Beach Sheriff Office said, two people were killed, including a 17-year-old girl, in a two-vehicle crash and another injured.
The crash was reported at U.S Highway 98 northwest of Interstate 95. A 79-year-old man of Okeechobee was driving a 2007 Toyota Rav 4 westbound on U.S. Highway 98 northwest of Interstate 95
A second vehicle, driven by Ashley Ann Carter, 17, of Palm Beach Gardens, was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion eastbound on U.S. Highway 98.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said, Stripling crossed over into the eastbound lane, crashing into the left side of Carter’s Fusion.
The 79-year-old driver’s Rav 4 rotated counterclockwise and came to a final rest in the east and westbound lanes facing southeast.
The Fusion was sent off the southern shoulder of the road, overturned and landed on its roof.
The 79-year-old Toyota driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Carter was taken to Delray Medical Center where she later died.
The cause of the crash still remains under investigation.
The Palm Beach Sheriff Office and the Florida Highway Patrol is urging anyone with relevant information concerning the crash to contact the Palm Beach Police Department as soon as possible.
