Four people were struck by vehicles in two separate crashes, Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 49-year-old delivery man was biking on 88th Street and Palm Beach Gardens when he swerved in front of a box truck to avoid a parked car but ended up being hit by the truck, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The biker was pronounced dead, and the 30-year-old box truck driver stayed on scene, according to Florida Highway Patrol officials.
After a while, a 61-year-old man, a 55-year-old woman and another 13-year old boy were struck by a car that had jumped the curb on West 96th Street near Wellington Avenue.
One of the legs of the 55-year-old was severed during the accident and the other may need to be amputated, cops said. The man suffered a leg injury, while the 13-year-old was still unconscious, FHP said
They were all taken to a hospital in Palm Beach County and are expected to survive, cops said.
Police did not immediately know what must have truly lead to the car crash.
The driver remained on scene, and the crash still under investigation.
