Two Separate St. Lucie County Car Crash Left Several Injured
Several members of the Florida Highway Patrol were injured in two separate car accidents, official sources said.
An unmarked police vehicle was responding to reports of an attempted robbery when it collided with another vehicle near 155th Street and Lakewood Park in St. Lucie County, Florida Patrol Officials said.
Two police officers were taken to St. Lucie County Hospital for treatment for injuries to the back and knees and are listed in stable condition.
The two individuals in the other car were taken to Delray Medical Center with minor injuries.
A marked squad car was responding to the first crash site when they were also involved in a collision near 159th Street and White City Avenue. Police in that crash were taken to an area hospital complaining of neck and back pain.
The officers involved have not yet been identified and the cause of both crashes is currently under investigation. Florida Highway Patrol said, investigations are still ongoing to detect if the accident was caused by either drug or alcohol.
