A crash involving at least four vehicles on Boca Raton Parkway in Palm Beach County left three people dead and seven injured, police officials and the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
A 21-year-old man behind the wheel of one of the vehicles was driving 120 mph when his car jumped the center guardrail on the roadway near 188th Street in Boca Raton, Florida Highway Patrol sources said.
Three passengers in his car were killed, they said.
A woman trapped in one of the vehicles frantically screamed at passers-by for help, witnesses said.
“She was trying to climb out of the big SUV from the top,” a witness said. “She started screaming and crying and then the police came to help her.”
Florida Highway Patrol officials said, one of the dead victims was a man in his 30s. The seven people injured in the crash were rushed to a hospital in Palm Beach County.
A 34-year-old cab driver said, he will never forget seeing the tangled wreckage.
“I saw them bring out the person out of a gray car,” said 34-year-old man. “He was lifeless and already dead.”
The FHP said, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
