Four Injured After Car Slams Into Pedestrians In Indian River County
A car slammed into barriers outside a house, injuring at least four pedestrians, police in Indian River County say. The male driver has been arrested on suspicion of terrorism, reports The Post. Witnesses saw officers surround the car before the man was taken away in handcuffs.
Witnesses say the crash, which involved a black tinted SUV and appears to have been deliberate. “I think it looked intentional, the car sped towards the barriers,” witness tells The Post.
“I was walking on the other side of the road. I heard some noise and someone screamed. I turned around and I saw a black SUV driving very fast close to the railings, maybe even on the pavement.” She says the vehicle didn’t appear to have a front license plate.
Another witness, a 31-year-old Post employee, says he heard screams and then saw the car plow into a group of cyclists waiting at a traffic light before accelerating toward the barrier.
After all information were received, the Florida Highway Patrol disclosed that the crash is still under investigation as the department is trying to determine if drugs or alcohol had a part to play in the crash.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident resulting in injuries.
