An Indian River County man was seriously injured in a car accident in Davie, firefighters and FHP personnel at the scene said.
The accident occurred in the 3600 block of Davie near Wellington, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
Firefighters and FHP officials said, they arrived to find a 2008 Honda that had overturned after colliding with a tractor trailer, trapping the adult male driver of the Honda. The man was identified as a 34-year-old of Broward County.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters immediately began using the jaws of life to extricate the victim.
The doors and roof were removed, allowing FHP officials to safely remove the victim onto the stretcher, according to emergency responders called to the scene.
A FHP helicopter was called in to take the victim to the a hospital in Roseland.
The driver of the tractor trailer and three passengers received non-life threatening injuries in the crash, and had been questioned by FHP. No charges were filed as the crash is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
