A man was injured when his car crashed head-on into an oncoming truck.
The crash occurred at the Coconut Creek in Broward County, blocking the southbound lanes.
The Broward County Fire Service, Broward County Ambulance Service and the Florida Highway Patrol all attended to the scene.
The crash blocked the Coconut Creek southbound lanes for several hours as emergency services workers freed a woman and cleared the wreckage.
Broward County police reported, the man received back injuries and was taken to Broward County Base Hospital. The driver of the truck received minor injuries, and emergency service workers spoke to him at the scene.
A Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant urged drivers to remember the Fatal Five, which are: speeding, drinking and driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted or inattentive driving, and driving while tired.
“It’s too early to say what has caused this crash, but investigations are ongoing,” a Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant said.
Broward County Police and the Florida Highway Patrol said, they were led to believe the car driver had turned right into the on-coming truck.
The truck veered off the road and became wedged between some trees.
