A 53-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash west of town, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
She was pronounced dead at Delray Medical Center shortly after the wreck. Her place of residence was not immediately available.
The accident occurred at Boynton Beach and Davie Road. She was turning her 2008 Mitsubishi across the northbound lanes and failed to yield to a 2001 Mazda SUV driven by a 27-year-old of suburban Lake Worth, according to a sheriff’s investigation report.
The front of the Mazda violently crashed into the driver’s side of the deceased’s Mitsubishi, the report said.
She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck. There is no evidence that either drugs of alcohol played a part in the crash, the report said.
The 27-year-old also was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged and firefighters had to use the jaws of life to cut the occupants out of their cars, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
A second person also was injured and was rushed to a hospital, FHP said.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident resulting in a fatality.
