The Audi sedan and a Chevrolet Impala were speeding as they traveled east along Broward County Parkway when the Audi ran into a Honda Accord that came out from no where and caught fire, police and the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The black Audi then split in half and the 31-year-old driver of Martin County died instantly in the crash, which happened at the intersection of Coral Springs and Coconut Creek, a Broward County police spokeswoman said in a report.
The driver of the Chevrolet and possibly four passengers abandoned the Impala and ran away from the crash at 9500 Coral Springs Parkway, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The driver and three other passengers in the Honda Accord died at the crash scene. Police authorities said, the passengers were a 23-year-old, a 32-year-old and a 19-year-old girl from Miami.
