He was 36-year-old. The crash happened at 12701 Glades Cutoff Road.

Officials say, the truck was traveling southwest on a dirt road across from railroad tracks when the driver failed to observe the approaching truck.

According to FHP, the dump truck cab became separated from the body of the vehicle and the driver was ejected and thrown into a canal.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue dive team searched the canal for the driver and cab using a drone submarine.

The dump truck was removed from the canal and transported to a storage facility in Port St. Lucie.

The St. Lucie County dive team searched the water for several hours and were unable to locate the driver.

Officials say the search was stopped for safety reasons.

The body of the driver was found days later.

Florida Highway Patrol says, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Anyone with relevant information concerning the cause of the car crash is asked to contact the FHP department.
