Odyssey Drunk Driver Arrested For Causing Crash That Killed One And Injured One
A 23-year-old lady who had just left the bank was killed when a minivan fleeing the scene of a car crash in Palm Beach County plowed into the car she was riding in, FHP authorities said.
A 24-year-old lady was heading for dinner with her pal and her friend’s mother when a Honda Odyssey slammed into the rear end of the vehicle at Delray Beach and Boca Raton in Palm Beach County, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
Her mother said, she was nearby when the tragedy took place.
“We weren’t that far apart, because I got to the scene soon after the crash,’’ the heartbroken mom said. “I arrived at the scene and saw the EMS take my daughter out of a mangled car. She was lifeless.”
The lady was declared dead at Delray Medical Center.
“She was a rambunctious 23-year-old,” the mom said. “She loved to dance”
The driver of the Honda Odyssey, who FHP said had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, is currently in police custody.
The victim’s 24-year-old friend suffered a broken pelvis in the accident, FHP said. She and her mom were both in stable condition.
