20-Year-Old Daughter Of Former FHP Sergeant Charged For Crash That Killed Four In Martin County
A daughter of a former Florida Highway Patrol sergeant has been summoned to appear in court next week to answer homicide charges over a fatal car crash.
Martin County prosecutors initially decided not to charge the 20-year-old girl after her Porsche 911 sports car plowed into a minivan taxi in Martin County, killing three women and seriously injuring another who later died in the hospital.
A spokeswoman for the FHP told The Post that the 20-year-old had been summoned to appear at a Magistrate’s Court in Martin County and that prosecutors expected her to attend.
Attempts to reach the 20-year-old girl, who rarely speaks to the media, was unsuccessful. Her lawyer was not immediately available for comment.
During an inquest, she said her car hit a puddle and she lost control. Her car then veered into a taxi‚ which in turn smashed into a barrier. She described the incident as tragic.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident resulting in a fatality. We hope the investigators can quickly determine what caused the accident. Please be careful and obey the speed limits whenever you are driving a motorcycle, car, SUV or truck.
