One person died and three other people were seriously injured in a car crash on northbound Interstate 95 near Gateway Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Louis Batista died at the scene. He was a 22-year-old and from West Palm Beach.
They were passengers in a Ford Explorer driven by a 32-year-old driver of West Palm Beach. The 32-year-old lost control of the vehicle. It veered left and struck the passenger side of a Highlander and then overturned several times, Florida Highway Patrol officials said. The 32-year-old driver was taken to Delray Medical Center and was in critical condition.
The crash took place northbound Interstate 95 and caused all lanes on northbound I-95 to close for about three hours. All lanes have since been reopened.
The driver of the highlander was unconscious at the time of the crash and was taken by paramedics to a nearby. He and one passenger in his vehicle sustained minor injuries.
