Nine Passengers Injured In Bus Crash In Delray Beach
A bus carrying Florida nationals resident in Palm Beach County crashed head-on with a truck in Delray Beach, injuring all 9 passengers including an 8-year-old girl, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The Florida Highway Patrol officials said, the crash occurred on a Delray Beach Highway near the small town of Wellington, just over 300 kilometers (about 185 miles) south of Palm Beach County.
Palm Beach Sheriff Office said, the bus swerved for unclear reasons and hit a truck traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the bus was injured but his injuries were not critical. The other passengers suffered critical injuries. The two occupants of the truck were slightly injured, Palm Beach Sheriff Office said.
The Florida Highway Patrol officials also said, that the youngest victim was an 8-year-old girl, the oldest 43, and that the passengers were all resident in Port Salerno in Martin County and had been traveling home from a trip at Disney.
Palm Beach Police Department is investigating the circumstances that led to the accident. The Florida Highway Patrol is encouraging anyone with relevant information concerning the main cause of the car crash to contact the FHP Department.
