28-Year-Old Scheduled To Appear In Court For A Crash That Injured Two
A former Jensen Beach TV host was charged in a wrong-way crash that injured a woman on Interstate 95, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The 28-year-old man of Delray Beach is charged with aggravated vehicular assault and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to Broward County Court records. He pleaded not guilty to the charges during his first court appearance.
A 28-year-old was driving a 2015 Toyota Rav 4 eastbound in the westbound lanes on Interstate 95 just east of Route 306 when he crashed head-on with a 2011 Chevrolet Impala that was traveling westbound, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The car was driven by a 20-year-old. He was taken to Delray Hospital by Palm Beach Fire and EMS for treatment, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The 28-year-old man and his 19- year-old passenger were both taken to a different hospital by Fire officers and with minor injuries, authorities said.
The 28-year-old is a former Jensen Beach TV host. Police authorities suspect that alcohol played a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
The 28-year-old is scheduled to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing, court records show. He is being held in the Martin County Jail.
