Car Crash In Broward County Kills Two And Injures Five Others
Two people were killed and four others injured in a violent weekend crash in Deerfield Beach when a car veered across a road into oncoming traffic.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office identified those involved in the four-vehicle collision that happened on the 4300 block of West Hillsboro Boulevard.
Driver, Dorathy Henry 23, of Coral Springs, and her aunt Maria Jacobs, 34, of Deerfield Beach, died in the crash.
The 23-year-old woman’s mother and five others were taken to Broward Health North Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, officials said.
Another person, Laurel Patrick, 54, of Boca Raton, was treated at the scene of the crash.
According to investigators, a 27-year-old lost control of the Bentley truck she was driving and veered across the eastbound lanes of West Hillsboro Boulevard crossed over the raised center median and struck three vehicles in the westbound lanes — the Nissan Altima driven by Dorathy Henry, a Chrysler 200, and a Hyundai Sonata.
Witnesses and evidence indicated the Dodge was speeding at the time, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators ask anyone with information about the crash to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office.
