Father And Son Injured In Lake Worth Motorcycle Crash
An 18-year-old and his father were seriously injured in a crash in Lake Worth, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office authorities said.
Chris Henry was riding a 1995 Harley Davidson Road King with 32-year-old James Greg heading east on Lake Avenue, the sheriff’s office said. A 2008 Mazda CX-7 drove through the intersection at South F Street onto Lake, colliding with the motorcycle.
Authorities say a 17-year-old boy of Lake Worth had stopped at the stop sign but went into the intersection before letting the motorcycle pass. Records indicate the motorcycle had the right of way.
Chris and James, both of Lake Worth, were thrown from the bike and slid under a parked car. The Mazda collided with a tree.
The boy sustained serious injuries in the wreck and James was critically injured. Both were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. Investigators say the injuries they sustained indicate they were wearing helmets at the time of the wreck.
A relative, who asked not to be identified, said that the father and son are in a great amount of pain but are recovering.
The 17-year old boy, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured in the wreck. It was unclear whether he will face charges.
